Saxophone
There are MANY different types of saxophones! The four most common are Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Baritone. When you first start playing the saxophone at ELANCO, you will start on the Alto Saxophone. You may have the option to play the Tenor or Baritone Saxophone as a 6th grader and maybe even the Soprano Saxophone in high school. Saxophones can play MANY different types of music, like classical, jazz, funk, pop and still more!

Like other woodwind instruments, all of the notes on the saxophones are played with the same fingerings. For example, the way you push keys down to play an A flat on the Alto sax is the same way that you push keys down to play A flat on the Baritone sax. So, once you learn how to play one type of saxophone, you can play them all!
