Beginner Band & Orchestra Information/Q&A Meeting TONIGHT (Wed May 28) at 7PM!
Do you already have an instrument in the family? Fantastic! Musical instruments are just like cars. Depending on its age and how much it was used and how well it was taken care of, your instrument may need some maintenance and/or cleaning to put it in good playing condition for your child. Nothing is more frustrating and discouraging to a beginner student than an instrument in poor condition that doesn't play correctly. This can make it impossible to tell if a student's struggles are actually due to the student or the instrument. Mr. Heckman and Mr. Wiedemer will happily see if your instrument plays and can give you a general overview of anything we see that may need repair. Below are some recommended independent instrument repair places to get your instrument back in good playing condition!
Jennifer Strunk of JS Woodwind Repair and Lesson Studio and has over 20 years of experience teaching private lessons (in fact, Mr. Heckman is one of her former students!) and over 15 years of experience repairing flutes, oboes, clarinets, and saxophones.
