Jazz Band Auditions

General Audition Requirements:

• You must have reached book 3 or have been invited to audition by your lesson teacher

• Learn and perform the Concert Bb Blues Scale in quarter notes

• Learn and perform the piece "Hogs Breath Cafe"

Piano:  You must be taking lessons on piano outside of school, have access to a piano or keyboard for practicing, and have played for three or more years.

Drum Set:  You must have a drum set for regular practicing and be taking drum set lessons. In addition to playing Hogs Breath Cafe you will need to play a rock pattern with fills and a swing pattern with fills.

How to Audition:

Flute, Clarinet, Alto Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, Bass

Piano, Drum Set

• Audition in person AFTER Spartan Band rehearsal on Thursday, January 23, 2024 BEGINNING at 4:45PM (how late this goes depends on how many people audition 😊)
