Find a quiet place to read together frequently
Stop to look at and enjoy the pictures while reading
Point out concepts about print: (capital letters, spaces between words, punctuation, point to the words as you read to show reading words left to right)
Allow your child to interact with the book and ask questions or make connections
Encourage your child to share books and reading with other family members, pets, stuffed animals, etc.
