How Starlight Came to Be

She died amongst red fields

In rows of forgotten memories

Her last whisper a soft drop

In coursing waves of the sea

Her body was patched in silk

Her casket firmly sealed

Because cuts from kaleidoscope walls

Rarely ever heal

The Moon cried out red tears

And the Sun hid ‘way in mourn

The world grew morosely still

As on that day was born

An ever-chilling silence

That shook all souls in fright

As the very last star vanished

Her blood shining in the night
