Hotspots do not automatically connect to Chromebooks. You will need to select the EGUSD-Chrome Wi-Fi network to connect the hotspot to your Chromebook.
You may encounter an issue with your EGUSD hotspot preventing you from accessing the internet. Possible issues include:
The hotspot will not power on (the power button may or may not be flashing).
The hotspot will power on but not finish booting up.
The hotspot appears powered off but the Chromebook indicates it is connected.
The hotspot appears powered on but does not provide internet to the EGUSD Chromebook.
There is no cellular reception where there was previously.
If you experience any of these issues, try restarting both the Chromebook and the hotspot. If you continue to have issues, please reset the hotspot.
The hotspot will only work where T-Mobile provides cellular reception. Sometimes moving the hotspot to a different part of your house or near a window can improve reception. The hotspot will not work outside of the United States.
Your EGUSD provided hotspot will only connect to an EGUSD Chromebook. Student Support will not be able to assist with connecting your hotspot to a personal Chromebook, Windows PC, Mac, iPad, etc.
