The season of Spring
This week in year one, we have been learning about the season of Spring. We went on a Spring walk and identifed different signs of Spring. We found buds, daffodils, flowers, seedlings, ladybirds and heard the birds tweeting. We have also started logging the changes of weather in our Spring weather diaries. Did you know it could snow in the season of Spring? As we didn't!
We have also been learning about the different parts of a plant and labelled them. We also got the opportunity to plant some green peas into our plant pots and have started to hang these on our classroom windows. Can you spot them?
Money Week
Book Week
This week in year one the children have celebrated book week. On Monday they visited their local library in Rayleigh highstreet. They were shown how to use the library and the job of a libarian. Some of the children were chosen to pretend to be a libarian and scanned some books! They were then able to explore different books in the library and share and read them with their friends.
On Thursday the children got to dress up as their favourite book character and took part in a parade infront of all the recpetion and year 2 children - it was amazing!
All of the children looked fantastic and we all had a great day!
On Friday the children also got to share their favourite books with children in year 5 and made lots of new friends.
