As part of their home learning, Year 5 were asked to go for a colour walk. This is where you try to find as many colours as you can whilst going on a nice, refreshing walk. If you can, you take pictures of the different colours and create a collage/picture out of them. Please enjoy looking at the art creations we have been sent.
This week, the children have been writing short stories based upon the exciting short story 'Ride of Passage'. As part of their learning, they were tasked with writing character descriptions which showed the reader the emotions the character felt through actions, instead of just telling them. Some of the ideas have been collected together. See if you can identify how each character is feeling based on each sentence.
Over the last few weeks, the children have focused on developing their character and setting description skills in preparation for writing a short story based on the animated film 'Ride of Passage'. This week, Year 5 have been introduced to the topic of deforestation. The importance of protecting the rainforest was highlighted and they spent some time created slides which spread that message.
