Over the last 3 weeks, Year 6 have had great fun designing and making their own electric vehicles. The design brief was to design and make a vehicle to be powered by a 3V motor and 2 AA batteries. The car had to move forward and backwards, go in a straight line and drive up a ramp. The bodywork had to be decorated and removable. The children learned all about electric power, circuits and switches, gears and pulleys and friction during the design and manufacturing process. The vehicles were then judged by and Engineer from the Ford Motor Company and prizes were awarded to the teams who met the design brief most closely. I think you'll agree that our Year 6's have been extremely creative and talented in their execution. They answered questions intelligently and showed brilliant teamwork - Well done Year 6 - we are so proud of you all!
