During week 4 of home learning, year 6 were tasked with creating their own 'curious creature' as part of our science unit on living things. They had to draw their creature and list the characteristics, ensuring that their 'curious creature' would fit into the criteria of one of the animal groups they have been learning about. Take at look at their creations and see if you can classify each animal given the characteristics. Will you classify the creature as a mammal, reptile, amphibian, arachnid, insect, bird, mollusc, annellid, echinoderm, crustacean or as a fish?

Linking to our science unit on living things, year 6 found out about some endangered animals in North America (geography topic). They had a choice of 10 animals to research and had to present their findings as a fact file or informative poster.
