What is Tournament of Minds?
Tournament of Minds is an opportunity for our Grade 5/6 students with a passion for learning and problem solving to demonstrate their skills and talents in an exciting, vibrant and public way. It encourages co-operative learning and teamwork.

TOM 2021
Congratulations to our 2021 team, Team Phelmo! Our 7 grade 5/6 girls have performed astoundingly this year despite the challenges they faced.
Our team is comprised of 2 seasoned veteran Tournament of Minders and 5 new members! A mixture of Grade 5 and 6!
While we wait for our results to come in, I'd like to congratulate these 7 girls for their tenacity and perseverance. It is so easy to give up and call it quits when things get tricky but these girls pushed through with a smile every single day after 3 long Webex sessions and came up with a brilliant play that explores why we need to learn about the Arts at school!
Well done girls, we are all so proud of your achievement this year!
TOM 2020 results
Congratulations to both teams! Both Hurricane Heights & Masked Fridge performed magnificently and scored extremely well!
Furthermore, our Masked Fridge team also received Honours for their overall performance and collaboration!

Changes to TOM in 2020
While it hasn’t been possible for the TOM program to run the same as last year, we still wanted to keep the Spirit of TOM to continue.
Students will:
Learn different ways to co-operate and collaborate online. For example: Webex sessions; Google docs; Zoom; TOM Google Classroom.
Explore ways to present their work electronically through a range of possibilities.
Show creativity while working through the new ‘Super Challenge’
Have the opportunity to build and maintain connection with their team/s in a new context.
Reconnect with a familiar program in a new way OR connect with a new program to promote problem solving and excellence.
Build on resilience and self-confidence.
Everyone has their strength and together this makes the team work!
