Welcome to Visual Arts!
The Visual Arts room is a complex yet exciting place to work in. One day you are drawing, the next you may be building a sculpture, modelling an animal, printing a unique design or painting your very own self portrait. We explore many techniques and tools to create our masterpieces.
Term 1 we began our culture study by looking at
Chinese New Year, in particular, the Year of the Snake.
This provides a springboard for a multitude of activities involving the Chinese Zodiac.
I wonder how many animals you can find in the Art room.
Term 2 is Famous Artist term!
Watch out for who we will look at this year.
Term 3
It is all about books - Reading and Art what a lovely match!
Art and Books go so well together. Students will look at short listed books from previous years as well as exploring concepts, illustrations and characters from this year.
We love books for inspiration in our art because it is driven by imagination and creativity.
Term 4
Skill Development
A variety of Art pieces using a variety of new and old techniques. Time to show your creativity!
In the Year of the Snake you may want to view Australian animals a different way. This cute digital animation on You Tube : Netflix Junior gives the animal point of view.
You may also recognize these characters on the right from a very old Disney movie called Robin Hood, PJ (Prince John) and Sir Hiss.
Enjoy.
In Term 3 Year 6 students have the opportunity to make a Modroc mask. ➡️
This video is shown to students to give them an understanding of the process.
