PERFORMING ARTS
Mrs Pamela Wood & Mr Adam Williams
Mrs Pamela Wood & Mr Adam Williams
Our Performing Arts program is a wonderful team effort with Mrs Wood and Mr Williams at the helm.
All Templeton students have weekly lessons where they are involved in music, dance and drama.
Incorporated into the program is the introduction of descant recorder to year three and the ukulele to year five students.
The annual YEAR SIX MUSICAL is the highlight of the Templeton calendar and an extravaganza not to be missed.
Directed and produced by Pamela Wood and Megan Hall, our performances take place in June at the Forest Hill College Theatre, Mahoneys Road, Forest Hill.
The cast for this year's musical will be announced shortly.
Tickets go on sale at the beginning of term two!
In addition to our Performing Arts sessions, every child in year three to six has the opportunity to learn a musical instrument during school hours.
This program is run by a private company, Musicorp, and tuition fees and instrument hire are required.
Students can learn a number of instruments including flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, and trombone.
When students reach a basic level of skill they can then join the Templeton Band. (Our band numbers were heavily impacted by covid and we are sure that 2025 will see a strong recovery).
…. And as if all this isn't enough -
Year four and five Templeton students have the opportunity to be part of the ‘Victorian State School Spectacular’ held every year at Melbourne Arena.
Some of our talented students form part of the ‘massed dance group’ while others join their voices with hundreds of singers in the massed choir.
Miss Jenkinson heads up the 'Massed Dancers' and Mr Dawson and Mrs Wood oversee the 'Massed Choir'.
