Not always. We can be invited by parents/carers or by the school's request, but we are not required. Please ask parents/carers if they would like to have KESOs present.
Much like the SSGs, we can sit in care team meetings if required, but it's not always necessary.

There are many places that you can go to find out more about culture, it just depends on what in particular you are wanting to know. Contact your KESO to get more information.
Cultural Perspectives in Education (CPIE) training, previously known as CUST training, is an educational day based around Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders perspectives and how that can be imbedded in the classroom. It is an intensive training that we run over approximately 4-6 hours, with the opportunity to discus, ask questions and learn from lived experiences.
Our KEC and KESOs run this training out of the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership; and can run it within schools if needed (usually bigger schools).
