We are very excited to be welcoming students back onsite over the coming week and can’t wait to see everyone in person. As we begin the staged return to onsite learning for all students, wellbeing continues to be a key priority for Heathmont College. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
At Heathmont College, our Wellbeing team would like to continue to support our students, families, and staff in a genuine and meaningful way. This term we will be operating a hybrid model for Wellbeing so that we can support the students on the days they are attending on site learning, along with students who are working remotely.
Wellbeing will continue to operate as usual with staff available for face-to-face appointments.
If you would like to make an appointment:
Visit the Wellbeing space during drop-in times (see info below)
Speak with your teacher or House Leader
Or, Email Fiona Adams if you would like to arrange an appointment to receive support.
If you require Wellbeing support:
Contact you Mentor Group Teacher, Classroom Teacher or House Leader
Or, Email Fiona Adams and a member of the Wellbeing team will be in contact with you.
Please contact one of these helplines now.
Due to current government restrictions, the Student Lounge will have some limitations this term. The space will not be available to hang out during drop-in times and Wellbeing visits during class time will be by appointment only.
Students can drop-in to Wellbeing to speak to arrange an appointment, enquire about support or grab some healthy food (if they haven’t brought lunch). The lounge is open for these purposes at the following times:
Before school (8:30am-8:45am)
Recess
Start of Lunch (1:19pm – 1:40pm)
After school (3:02pm – 3:30pm)
Wellbeing staff will be present in the yard during break times if students want to chat to someone or arrange a time to seek support.
Wellbeing will be operating by appointment only during class time. Wellbeing appointments will appear on the student’s Compass schedule.
If you would like an appointment to receive support from a Wellbeing Team member:
Speak to your mentor teacher to ask them to make a referral on your behalf.
Visit the Student Wellbeing Lounge at drop-in times to speak to someone about arranging an appointment.
Complete a yellow Referral form and give it to a Wellbeing Team member.
Email Fiona Adams
You will be allocated a team member for support and an appointment will appear on your Compass schedule. Please attend Wellbeing at the time scheduled and we will find an outdoor space to offer support.
During class times, the lounge is normally a quieter space available for students, who are presenting with heightened behaviours or anxiety to self-regulate for a short time to be able to return to class.
If you have a Wellbeing Pass, please ask your teacher if you’re allowed to go to Wellbeing.
Remember to press the doorbell on the Wellbeing lounge door to check in with a member of the team.
They will have a chat with you about taking some time out and what might assist you to return to class.
They may also make an appointment for another time if you require some extra support.
If no one is at Wellbeing, please go to your House office or return to class.
We are all really looking forward to you all being back onsite as we return to face-to-face learning. If you have ideas or think of something that you think may be helpful to support the re-entry to face-to-face learning, please let us know as we would love to hear from you. Email Wellbeing with any ideas you may have.
