With most of us working remotely and the current restrictions on movement outside the home, it can be hard to be motivated to get outside to exercise. The couch may become our default setting when we have a break, rather than engaging in physical activity. The benefits of exercise on our physical and mental health, mean that we should be doing the exact opposite during COVID-19.
Studies have shown that even 1 hour of exercise per week can have a benefit on our physical and mental health, so even if you start small, it will benefit you in the long run!
Go for a walk around, set yourself a weekly goal around being active or download an app with some at-home workouts if you are worried about going outside. Just get started with something and try to build it in to your routine.
