Literacy Goals
Individual learning goals are co-constructed. Students are involved in this process to empower them to monitor their progress and help them learn to identify where they are going next.
The goal-setting process provides the opportunity to give students clear feedback and guidance on how they can work toward reaching their goals.
Individual learning goals are shared with parents so they can support their children from home, particularly with their reading goal.
Individual Education Plans
I develop Individual Education Plans (IEP) for required students, always ensuring parental input is considered throughout the process. When updating and reflecting on an IEP at the conclusion of a semester, I refer to student data, which I then use to support my judgement of their progress and to develop sequential goals as needed.
Personal learning goals
An example of co-constructed personal goals for a student last year who was struggling with confidence and her mindset. These were shared with her parents and worked on at home as well.
