Hi, I'm Danni.
I'm a teacher, a private tutor and a teaching resource designer.
I have 5+ years experience working in different school contexts in both Australia and England. I pride myself on designing and delivering engaging lessons that students connect with, sparking curiosity and promoting a love of learning.
Student wellbeing is at the heart of my teaching practice as I understand the positive impact feeling safe and supported has on a child’s ability to learn and engage. It is a priority to develop strong relationships with my students and their families alike, knowing that a teacher-parent-student partnership is the bedrock of a successful and joyful education journey. These relationships are built on trust, care and a shared interest in seeing their child thrive.
I take an individualised approach to teaching and know that children learn in different ways. Students with varying needs such as ASD, ADHD, Gifted and Talented and Specific Learning Disabilities have flourished in my classroom — socially, emotionally and academically. With a nurturing, patient and engaging teaching approach, students feel seen for exactly who they are and their needs are met. In many cases, I have supported students to make more than 12-months growth in a 12-month period. Through creating a safe space to take risks, make mistakes and ask questions, children with low self-confidence have transformed into self-assured and resilient young people.
These student successes are enabled by close collaboration with my colleagues. I know that my team members and myself are most effective, efficient and creative when we are meeting regularly to plan, reflect and discuss the wellbeing, successes and next steps of our learners.
