Introductory Drama

The Year 8 Drama course offers students the opportunity to explore self-expression, increase self-confidence and foster social skills through a variety of practical play formats. Students will learn about and develop performance techniques such as improvisation, physical comedy, vocal skills and mime whilst developing an appreciation for theatre and film, and engaging in practical games and play building activities. All of these skills are explored further in Year 9 and 10 so this is the perfect opportunity to get a taste for Drama before moving into Stage 5!
Music
Contact person: Mrs Tidd
This elective runs as an additional two periods per week separate from the core Music course and is designed for those students who like to be positively involved in all aspects of music making, whatever the style! This course is practical based and will appeal to students who play instruments/sing, write songs, or those students who cannot wait to begin learning how.
This course provides a taster of Stage 5 Music.
Cost: $10 per semester
Visual Arts
Contact person: Mr Thomas
This elective is an additional study of two periods per week, separate from core Visual Arts. This course is about the imaginary world of art making and utilisation of new techniques and materials. You will draw, paint and make clay sculptures that reflect your own creative ideas.
This course is a taster of the type of opportunities offered in Stage 5 Visual Arts.
Equipment: Visual Arts book, lead pencil, colour pencils, eraser and ruler.
Cost: $20 per semester
