Student crew
Eligibility and selection
We are seeking enthusiastic NSW public school students in Years 11 and 12 studying VET Entertainment to form members of the student crew for Pulse Alive 2024.
Opportunities exist for students to take up specialist opportunities including follow spot operators, audio crew, stage crew and camera operators and assistants.
All positions will have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals and will give a great insight to students looking to pursue careers in this area of the entertainment industry.
Students currently studying the VET Entertainment course will be able to use their work at Pulse Alive to log 35 hours of industry work placement.
Applications are now open to nominate for the Pulse Alive 2024 student crew.
Applications close: Wednesday 14 February 2024 (Term 1 Week 3).
Successful students will require the endorsement of their school principal to participate. Students are encouraged to discuss their nomination with a teacher at their school prior to submission.
Students selected as members of the student crew will not be able to participate in the event in an additional category.
How to apply
Applications are now open for individual students to nominate to be a member of the Student Crew for Pulse Alive 2024.
Initial auditions will be via video, which must be submitted with the nomination form.
Please complete the Pulse Alive 2024 - Student Crew nomination form by Wednesday 14 February 2024 (Term 1 Week 3).
To audition, students are required to:
prepare a short video (maximum 2 minutes) outlining their interest, aptitude and experience to be considered as a member of the Student Crew.
You may also choose to include examples of your work within your video.
Videos should either be uploaded to YouTube (as an unlisted link) or Vimeo with a password (please be sure to include the password to your video on your application form).
Recommendation
Students successful in the video round will have their VET Entertainment teachers contacted for a recommendation and to confirm the school's approval for participation prior to notification.
Selected students will also be required to submit VET Entertainment Student Placement Record documentation closer to the event.

Bump in and sound checks - Ken Rosewall Arena: Tuesday 12 March 2024 10:00 am - 7:00 pm (Term 1 Week 7)
Dress rehearsal - Ken Rosewall Arena: Wednesday 13 March 2024
10:00 am - 10:00 pm (Term 1 Week 7)Performances - Ken Rosewall Arena: Thursday 14 and Friday 15 March 2024 8:30 am - 10:30 pm (Term 1 Week 7).
Commitment
Students selected as student crew will be expected to be available for all of the above rehearsal and performance dates.
What to wear
All members of the student crew will be given complimentary Pulse Alive tshirts to wear throughout the event.
Students must provide long black pants and closed in black shoes.
