Kogarah High School had a fantastic day out participating in the Sydney East/St George Oztag Gala Day held at the iconic Heffron Park, home of the mighty South Sydney Rabbitohs.
We proudly fielded five teams across the day:
Year 7/8 Boys
Year 9/10 Girls
Year 9/10 Boys
Year 11/12 Girls
Year 11/12 Boys
All teams played with energy, and determination, displaying strong teamwork and skill. While results weren’t the focus of the day, every Kogarah High team proved competitive across their matches, a credit to the hard work put in during morning training sessions under the guidance of Mr Clarke and Ms Miklos.
The 7/8 Boys team shone brightly, they fought their way to the semi-finals after an impressive run of form. Meanwhile, the 9/10 Boys were highly competitive in all their matches, narrowly missing out on progressing to the semis. Across all teams, students demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship, resilience, and pride in representing their school.
Adding to the excitement of the day was the special opportunity to witness the South Sydney Rabbitohs in action at the Rabbitohs Heffron Community & High Performance Centre. Students were thrilled to meet some of the players, snap a few photos, and even receive some complimentary footballs, creating lasting memories.
Overall, it was a hugely successful and enjoyable day for all involved. Our students not only represented Kogarah High School with distinction on the field, but also off it, showcasing resilience, respect, responsibility and reflection as individuals and as a school. The performances from all teams promise a bright future for our oz-tag squads in years to come.
Well done to everyone who participated and supported our teams!
A friendly reminder that training will continue on Fridays - all welcome.
