From Classroom to Coastline:
Kogarah High Students Help Create Bayside’s Next Public Artwork
We are excited to announce that our Yr 10 elective Visual Arts students have been invited to take part in the Museum of Contemporary Art C3West creative program, which partners artists with local communities to create art that responds to real-world issues.
In collaboration with Bayside Council, this year’s project: Dennis Golding: On the Foreshore - brings together celebrated Kamilaroi/Gamilaraay artist Dennis Golding and Bayside youth to explore the cultural and historical significance of Kamay Botany Bay.
Through creative workshops both within school and at the MCA, students will connect with Country, learn from a leading contemporary artist, and gain insights into the creative industries. Their contributions will help shape a major public artwork to be unveiled in Bayside in November 2025.
What an incredible opportunity for our students to make their mark on a piece of cultural history!
