E-Portfolio Task
What do you think will be the greatest difficulty for you when it comes to integrating digital technologies into your classroom?

I approached this task by reading the Eady & Lockyer (2013) reading and looking at different technologies in the classroom. I choose a type of technology I have not used in my classrooms and answered the questions above. I chose WebQuests as a technology app as I thought this was an interesting app that I will try to implement in my lessons. I will use WebQuests at the start of the unit or at the end of the unit as an inquiry base activity.
When I was creating my concept map, I looked back on apps I have used in my classroom and put them into their categories. The concept map focuses on the PDHPE subject area. This apps that I have used in the classroom are beneficial for students as they improve student learning achievement and encourages students to participate in learning as they can be creative and work collaboratively (Ibieta et al., 2017). An example of this is creating a poster about the impacts of alcohol and drug use on Canva.
I believe that the greatest difficulty for when it comes to integrating digital technologies into the classroom is that there may be limitations in the ability to access specific forms of technology (Eady & Lockyer, 2013). For example, a school in a rural or remote area may not have the ability to access multiple software's or apps as they may not have enough internet or money to purchase these while schools in the city have a greater opportunity to access these as they have the funds due to the high number of students at the school.
Another greater difficulty for integrating digital technologies into my classrooms is the knowledge and skills about how to use technology. As 21st century teaching has high implications of using technology to teach, some teachers may not know how to access certain apps or software's therefore not using technology at all in the classroom. This can impact student learning as technology has been proven to promote student learning as technology is an engaging learning strategies and classroom management techniques (Eady & Lockyer, 2013). This is my greatest difficulty because I am not the smartest person when it comes to use of technology, so I need to take the time to develop my skills and knowledge about different software's and apps before implementing them into my teaching. Teachers who have been teaching for decades may have certain attitudes and beliefs about the use of technology in teaching which results in not using technology at all. These teachers may believe that technology takes away the teacher's ability to teach as the technology does all the work for them so they decide to not use technology as a teaching strategy.
