DANCE AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
First Round VIDEO Audition
Video Submission
Present a 2 minute solo dance in the student’s choice of style.
Students should be dressed in appropriate dance attire (no costumes - form fitting clothes - please see below)
Student’s full body must be fully visible in the video at all times
Please review the video before sending and ensure that it is appropriate for audition.
Audition Attire
Appropriate Dance attire:
Girls: Leotard and tights with appropriate shoes for your dance (no socks).
Boys: Black T-shirt and black tights or dance pants with appropriate dance shoes (no socks).
No jewellery to be worn.
Students to have hair tied back and off their face.
Second Round LIVE Audition
Please note: Only students who were successful at First Round Video Auditions will be invited back for Second Round Live Auditions
Live Audition
A modern/contemporary Dance Workshop consisting of:
Warm up - Cardio, dynamic and static stretching
Corner and across the floor technical skills.
Choreographic Workshop. (Students will be required to perform the sequence in small groups.)

Girls: Leotard/tights/unitard/foot thongs or bare feet (no socks).
Boys: White T-shirt and black tights or dance pants. Appropriate dance shoes.
No jewellery to be worn.
Students to have hair tied back and off their face.
General Criteria that students will be assessed on for Dance are
Technical skill and performance quality
Strength and control of a range of locomotor and non-locomotor movement
Physical and cognitive potential in dance
Self-discipline, concentration, energy and focus, genuine interest and commitment
Ability to improvise a short dance sequence in response to a stimuli
Expectations of students accepted into Nepean CAPA High School
The ability to work independently and productively
Commitment to the Creative & Performing Arts both academically and in performance
Commitment to and engagement in the Extra-Curricular Program
Commitment towards their studies within all subjects at Nepean Creative and Performing Arts High School
