Special Events

Baulkham Hills North Public School celebrate many special events across the year. Below are some examples of special events that have been run by the school in previous years.

Literacy Lovers’ Day 2021-360p30.MOV

Literacy Lovers' Day

All students participate in Literacy Lover's Day each year. Students come dressed as their favourite book character and participate in literacy activities throughout the day. Students in Years Kindergarten - Year 2 participate in a parade.

Year 6 Mini Fair 2019-360p30.MOV

Year 6 Mini Fair

Year 6 students plan organise and run the annual mini fair to raise funds for their Year 6 gift to the school. Working in pairs or small groups the students select an activity or game to run on the day. Between them, it is their responsibility to organise all equipment and prizes necessary for their activity. The Year 6 teachers will help and support them in every way.

All students attend on the day to participate in the activities created by the year 6 students.

Celebration of Learning

Celebration of Learning takes place in December each year and is an opportunity for classes and grades to showcase their learning to families and the community at the completion of their learning for the year.

Education Week

Education Week is an annual celebration of NSW public education and the achievements of our schools, students and education system. At Baulkham Hills North the week of celebrations includes performance showcases, open classrooms and demonstrations of learning.

Olympic/Commonwealth Games Day

Our school participates in special events to celebrate and learn about significant worldwide events. An example of this is for the Olympic and Commonwealth Games where the whole school comes together to re-enact the formalities and celebration surrounding the events.

Sporting Carnivals

Each Year students participate in Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country sporting carnivals. Students aged 8 years and older will be able to compete to qualify to participate at Zone, Regional, State and National levels.

Students in Kindergarten through to Year 2 will have the opportunity to participate in a non-competitive, games based athletics carnival.

Father's Day

Our P&C holds a BBQ breakfast for Fathers which coincides with Jersey Day each year. All Dad's, Grandfathers and special men are invited to enjoy a bacon and egg roll with their children before school. This is followed by the popular 'Dad's Reading Time', where fathers are invited to read to a group of students in their child's class during the morning.

Grandparent's & Grandfriend's Day

Grandparents and Grandfriends Day is one of the most popular events involving school families. On this day students have the opportunity to share their school with the special people in their lives. This involves special performances, time spent in the classroom and library as well as a picnic lunch.

Bully No-Way Day

BHNPS takes part in Bully No Way Day which is the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence and is Australia’s key bullying prevention initiative.

P&C Colour Run

The P&C coordinate a colourful day for students which involves a fun run, obstacle course and much throwing of coloured powder. This is a major fundraising event for the school and is much anticipated by students.

100 Days of School

This is a special day for Kindergarten students which takes place after one hundred days of school. Students celebrate with their teachers and new friends whilst dressing up and participating in learning activities surrounding the number 100.

Harmony Day

On Harmony Day our multicultural community work with our Cultural Inclusion Team to put together an amazing display of cultures for all students to experience. Our culturally diverse school becomes a sea of colour with staff and students dressing in their national costume or colours. With students coming from 44 different countries, BHNPS demonstrates inclusivity and tolerance in a very fun and entertaining way.

May Fair

Mayfair is a huge day of fun for the whole community. The school is turned into a fun fair for one day with rides, stalls, games, food and entertainment. This is a major fundraiser for BHNPS and involves an amazing amount community spirit to put together. The results are well worth it! Easter Celebrations

Easter is a joyous time at BHNPS. Students in Kindergarten to Year 2 participate in an Easter Hat Parade and dance around for their friends and family with the Easter Bunny. Students in older grades are involved in an Easter art exhibition.

Mothers Day Morning Tea

Our parent bodies present a Mother's Day morning tea to all of the Mother's and special ladies in our school community. This usually involves a delicious morning tea, some pampering and sometimes even a spot of shopping!

NAIDOC Week

During NAIDOC Week students celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Community Christmas Carols

The BHNPS P&C holds a community focused Carols event on the school grounds at Christmas each year. This event is a wonderful opportunity for our school to be involved with the local Baulkham Hills North community.

STEM Challenge

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) form part of the Australian Curriculum. Students take part in STEM activities which may involve a showcase of their works to both their peers and the wider school community.
