Students from Years 1 & 2
Students from Years 3 & 4
At Baulkham Hills North Public School, we offer Drama across Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 as an extra-curricular activity. The art form of drama plays a significant role in discovering how meaning is made in peoples lives. It implores a system of communication and exchanges that allow students to explore a myriad of cultural, social and emotional matters. This exploration gives students greater opportunities for personal expression, enjoyment, creative action, imagination, emotional response and the creation of shared meanings.
Students will participate in a range of workshop style activities once a week throughout the year that will aim to introduce, refine and extend students across a range of Drama and performance skills. These workshops will be run by teachers who are passionate and committed to the creative arts. Students will participate in a range of activities tailored to exposing them to a range of Drama skills and performance channels such as puppetry, role-plays, readers theatre and impromptu acts.
The objective of Stage 1 Drama is to develop student knowledge, skills and understanding:
• How to combine the elements of drama collaboratively with others to create a piece of work;

• They will learn the performance elements of drama to enhance their speaking and performance skills.
