CZECH REPUBLIC

Medical College and Secondary Medical school is situated in a historical building in the centre of Hradec Králové in the east of Bohemia, 100 km east of Prague. It has a population of about 100,000 inhabitants. There are about 990 students – mostly girls – and a team of 60 teachers. The school offers both academic and vocational education. It prepares its students for careers in social services and various health institutions. 4-year Secondary Medical School provides education for students at the age of 15 - 19. The students are prepared for professions such as practical nurses, dental assistants, laboratory assistants, and health assistants. Many students continue their studies at universities. Medical College prepares qualified general nurses, pharmacy assistants, dental technicians and laboratory assistants. Our school has actively participated in European grants before so our teachers are experienced in this area. We were administrators of e-twinning pages of the previous project so we have lots of knowledge to share. The new project includes cooperation with NGO organisations. As our school already cooperates with NGO organization SEVER and we have a clear idea which experience we would like to share with our partners and we believe the cooperation will be beneficial to all the partners. This organisation provides environmentally focused lectures, workshops and projects and teaches students to think in a different way than at school. All key persons in the project are experienced teachers fluent in English who have taken part in many different projects, not only Erasmus.
