About me - Miss Thomson
Hello! My name is Miss Thomson and I am covering in P4a. I have previously taught at Windygoul Primary School, various ELC Secondary Schools as well as Letham Mains in the past! I enjoy crafting, and you can often find me learning a new hobby. My favourite things to teach are expressive arts 🎨ðŸŽðŸŽµ.
Here you can find updates about our learning and snapshots of what we get up to during the week.Â
In PE with Mrs Berwick, we have been learning Scottish country dances / Ceilidh dances! We will be joining forces with our friends in the other P4 class to further this and practise some more dances! Photos taken by Harrison.Â
We explored how disco balls create dazzling and eye catching colour effects before creating our own. We used a template to help scaffold us, then added our own colour palette to our disco ball. Some of us even challenged ourselves to add an area of light to show a spotlight direction.Â
On Wednesday, P4a made Autumn suncatchers by being able to read and follow detailed written instructions. We also challenged our scissor control and accuracy! They will look lovely up at our classroom window.Â
On a Thursday, P4a engage with active spelling rotations or activities. This week, we looked at:
Writing in the sand to enhance our letter formation and handwriting.Â
Using magnetic letters to challenge letter rotation and organisation.
Using alphabet pop-its to challenge our learning with capital letters and have sensory input.Â
Pupil voice station which included known spelling activities that feature in our homework such as rainbow writing or sentence creation.Â
