How we can implement at a macro-level GenAI at schools
TPACK Model (General Version)
it's not about the skill of using technology, it's also about adjusting teachers' pedagogical skills together with the technological skills and knowledge about the domain (content knowledge)

UNESCO AI Competency Framework
The role of the teacher had been the knowledge transfer for decades. Now it has shifted to facilitator of learning and about connecting skills, ideas, preparing them for the future
Collaboration
When you're working with another person, you need to know about them, understand them and this has to be a reciprocal relationship
The same principle stands with GenAI, you need to know how it receives, processes and returns information, and also have clear expectations about it in order to have an effective collaboration
Why are prompts important? Communication, its the way we communicate with AI
There are prompt engineering techniques
Chain-of-thought: The tool adjusts based on the interaction, it tries to replicate human behavior. its the same with humans, when we learn we form a schema and then we relate things to the schema or modify according to the schema
-> However, because the tool is still under development, the chain-of-thought after a while of interacting with it starts to go to the wrong direction -> it starts outputing information that is further and further away from what we want
It's about understanding the behavior of the tool
At the core of research there is always the same mechanism
How you observe the problem, collect data, analyze it and derive conclusions
There are 3 main areas of AI in research
AI as a phenomenon <- after GenAI this is the most important
AI as Research Methods <- before GenAI the focus was here
AI as Research Artefacts <- there is mostly concepts here
AI has created a lot of new phenomena for research, for example:
How does AI change our behavior, e.g. how students learn with AI
What is the role of creativity now in design contexts?
There are different viewpoints for this because some people say that AI lowers the creativity of people but on the other hand people by themselves e.g designers, after some time often stick to the same patterns, so one would say that it boosts our creativity.
-> When something is largely available e.g GenAI, then it stops becoming an advantage
It's important to develop another skillset e.g interpersonal skills that AI is not able to do
In the area of research, before for researchers the pace of producing research was the most important skill that put you into advantage
Now in the era of AI where academic text can be produced in some seconds, its important to develop other skills such as criticizing and modifying the AI output, and visualizing the flow of communication and what you are trying to say with your article
Ai as a method can be used in different ways:
-collecting literature review
-collecting behavior e.g detecting emotions
- (not in education) in lie detection in forensic situations
"On being sane in insane places"
This is an example
How can we find the best way to work with it, how can we optimize our workflow for our purpose
Artefact = anything tangible, it can be a solution, system, software, anything you develop for research
