The Public Organizations and public Policy (POP) Interdisciplinary behavioral Lab (under establishment) is a scientific and educative laboratory designed to accumulate behavioral and managerial knowledge about innovative public organizations, ambitious public policies and state of the art management data related with national resources and government decisions. We form this lab to produce better understanding of the services and policies for citizens in modern nations. It focuses on advanced experimental processes and the study of behaviors among policy makers, civic servants, public sector employees, and citizens receiving services in government settings and in the public system in Israel and around the world. Its goal is to apply advanced experimental approaches for examining the factors behind different behaviors and policies in the public domain, the development of trust and relationships between citizens and public institutions, and the evaluation of the performance of these institutions and organizations. The chief purpose of the Laboratory’s work is to improve our understanding of management tools in a democracy, to improve the performances of the governmental bureaucracy, and to understand mechanisms for strengthening the cognitive, perceptional, and behavioral affinity between different players in the field of public policy.
