Short Stirling III (EE887 WP-T) on a mission to Krefeld on 1943-06-22.

On Monday, 21 June 1943, (a part of) the aircraft of the 90 squadron (RAAF), took off for a mission to Krefeld in Germany from a station (airfield) in or near West Wickham.

One of the crew members was A414077 Pilot Officer H N Peters RAAF. He departed for his mission at 23:46. He flew with a Short Stirling (type III, with serial EE887 and code WP-T). His mission and of the other crew members was planned for Tuesday, 22 June 1943.

The Aircraft was shot down in the early hours of 22nd June by a night fighter,         later identified as the German fighter ace Hauptmann H.J. Jabs, and crashed at Hoogwoud North Holland with the loss of all the crew.
