Instituto São Judas Tadeu

Instituto Educacional São Judas Tadeu

The São Judas Tadeu Educational Institute is a philanthropic institution that serves 224 children who live in the cities of Paranoá and Itapoã in the Federal District.

The Institute helps underprivileged children who are in situations of vulnerability and at social risk as well as their families. Four sisters coordinate a team of 40 collaborators to help better the lives of needy children and train conscientious citizens who value life in all its forms and comprehensiveness.

The partnership between UNAtions and the São Judas Tadeu Educational Institute began in 2020 through workshops given to provide continual, high-quality training to educators so they are able to activate the potential talents of their students.

To prepare teachers to use multisensory and practical teaching methods, the UNAtions team shared strategies that allow educators to develop robust pedagogical programs and effective learning environments.

At the beginning of 2020, teacher training took place face-to-face during the Institute's pedagogical week. In the middle and at the end of the year, workshops took place online because of the pandemic.

During the meetings with the educators and coordinators at the Institute, the UNAtions team also addressed issues related to children's social-emotional development and has been monitoring the professional development of these educators to meet the needs and realities of the students who attend the Institute.
