Creche Monte Moriá

The Monte Moriá Daycare Center is in the city of São Sebastião in the Federal District. The daycare center is a nonprofit association that defends social rights and rehabilitation and serves 60 children from the ages of 1 to 4 who are in situations of vulnerability and at social risk. The institution is sustained solely by voluntary contributions and does not receive any government funding or support.

We started our partnership between UNAtions and the Monte Moriá Daycare Center in 2019. The Center was the first institution in the Federal District to take part in the project. The Monte Moriá Daycare Center, despite its lack of resources, has a team that is engaged in and concerned about the education and global development of its students, which is what inspired us to invite them to become our sister school.

The educators of the daycare center received specialized pedagogical training to meet the individual needs of their students. The sharing of best practices aims to promote teachers’ learning and empowers them so they can activate the potential talents of their students.

The UNAtions team held workshops using multisensory and practical teaching and learning methods using recyclable and natural materials, allowing teachers to transform their teaching environments using the resources available to them. Through the project, educators received continuous follow-up to help them effectively apply the knowledge they gained.
