Escola do Futuro

Escola do Futuro

The Escola do Futuro is in the city of Manaus in the Brazilian state of Amazonas. It is a private Bahá'í school that serves students from Early Childhood through High School. In 2018, with the creation of the UNAtions project, we began a partnership with the Escola do Futuro, our first sister school.

We began our work with Early Childhood teachers only, and as the project developed, we expanded it to the elementary school. Through UNAtions, we shared knowledge, experiences, and pedagogical methods aimed at promoting teachers' learning and professional development to contribute to their ability to activate the potential talents of their students.

The training is designed to prepare teachers to use multisensory and practical teaching and learning methods using local materials and resources. We share strategies that allow teachers to develop strong pedagogical programs and effective learning environments.

Diverse topics were addressed during teacher training to meet the needs of the School. Members of UNAtions went to Manaus to better know the reality of students and teachers and teach the workshops. A team from the Escola do Futuro also came to School of Nations in an exchange program to experience best practices in education.

We continued our work online during the pandemic in 2020, consulting with and offering workshops aimed at adapting teaching to the virtual model.

Reading and Writing Workshops in 2019

In mid-2019, the teachers of Early Childhood Education and Elementary School at Escola do Futuro had the opportunity to visit School of the Nations to experience some of our teaching practices, methods, and strategies. As well, the counselors learned about some of the interventions we use in our school to deal with the social-emotional needs of our students.
