Naviance Task Information & Tutorials

Please note: Tasks marked with an asterisk (*) are required. For graduation, all students must complete the 'required' tasks. ​In order to earn .125 HS Credit, students need to complete the 'optional' tasks in addition to the required tasks.

9th Grade

Strength's Assessment*

The Strengths Explorer is a skill assessment that identifies each student’s three strongest emerging talents. Students will discover what they need to do next to continue building on their identified strengths. Please note: You may only take this personality profile ONE time. You must finish it in one sitting.

Deadline: End of 1st Semester

4-Year Plan*

Your HS Education Plan is your personalized path through high school which outlines the courses you wish to take in order to explore your interests, meet graduation requirements and prepare for your future goals. This will include the courses you plan to take in grade 10, as well as elective courses you wish to take in grades 11-12 which best support your interests and goals. This plan reflects your interests and goals at this point in time, and can be adjusted as your goals and interests change as you continue through high school.

Deadline: At Registration

SMART Goals

The SMART goal tool is used to create a goal that is achievable by breaking the goal down into categories such as Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Timely. Your SMART goals can range from a variety of things whether they be academic, career focused, personal, post secondary or any other goal that pertains to you. ​​

This task is not required for graduation. Students who complete all assigned tasks can earn credit.

10th Grade

Career Interest Profiler*

The “Career Interest 15 Profiler” is a tool that can help students discover the types of work activities and careers that match their interests. The interest profiler has 180 questions about work activities that people do at their jobs. There are no right or wrong answers!

Upload your resume to Naviance. If you haven't started a resume yet; use the Resume Builder to create a resume using your activities and experience. Please note: This task is marked complete when a document is uploaded. If you are using the Resume Builder to create your Resume, please Update/Add Sections and Print/Export your resume.

Your Plan will also serve as a helpful reference document to assist you in registering for your grade 12 classes.

Financial Aid Survey*

A.K.A. Financial Planning for After High School

Students should review the Financial Aid information provided by ESD, and watch the video provided by WSAC. Once complete, post a reflection comment in Naviance using the following prompt - “How will this Financial Planning information help you after high school?”

Apply to College or Technical School

All students attending a 2-year or 4-year college should update their application outcomes in SCOIR:

  • Make sure you've moved all completed applications to the "applied" column in SCOIR

  • Mark the admissions decisions for each college or university (accepted, waitlisted, denied)

  • Mark the college or university you will attend as "enrolling" - this tells us where to send your final transcript!

  • And finally, let us know if you need help!!

This task is not required for graduation. Students who complete all assigned tasks can earn credit.

Minimum Requirements to Graduate

Students must have the following evidence in order to verify their High School & Beyond Plan Requirement (for Graduation) has been met:

  • Achieveworks Personality Inventory

  • Completed 4-Year Plan from Grade 11-12

  • Completed Senior Exit Survey & Meeting

  • Uploaded Resume

  • Completed Financial Aid Research Task

Note: Any of these required tasks assigned by not completed during Grade 11 will need to be completed in Grade 12.
