Fall 2026
This fall in music, 5th graders are working on the following musical skills:
-Reviewing ukulele and piano learned in 4th grade
-Playing in time
-Reading lead sheets and chord diagrams
-Working together with others to create original songs including rhythms, melodies, and chords
- Learning to play the guitar - each class will perform a song at the Martin Luther King Jr. assembly in January.
Some songs we're working on are:
-We Will Rock You
-Count on Me (Bruno Mars)
-We Shall Overcome
-Lift Every Voice and Sing
-The Times, they are a-changin'
