  • Use an antibacterial wipe to clean the screen, keyboard, and Chromebook case.

  • Optional: Use a computer lens-specific wipe for the screen.

  • Use a Microfiber cloth to dry your screen and ensure it is smudge-proof.

  • NEVER use bleach products on the screen.

  • NEVER spray cleaner or water directly onto the Chromebook.

Shut Down then Restart Ocassionally

Different from just  Signing Out or the Chromebook , Shutting Down and Restarting allows Chrome OS to update!  Once you sign out, there will be a Shut Down button in the lower-left corner and a shut down button within the settings pop-up window in the lower-right.

What To Do If...

A Student Loses Their Chromebook

  • Have student go to the Textbook Manager (high school), Media Director (middle school), or Tech Spec (elementary) to report their Chromebook is lost.

  • The student's Chromebook will be disabled with a message to turn it in if it is found.

  • The student will be issued a different Chromebook.

A Student Reports Their Chromebook was Stolen

  • Have student go to the Textbook Manager (high school), Media Director (middle school), or Tech Spec (elementary) to report their Chromebook has been stolen.

  • The student's Chromebook will be disabled with a message to turn it in if it is found.

  • The student will be issued a different Chromebook.

  •  The student also needs to file a police report with the building SRO.

A Teacher Loses their Chromebook Charger

  • If a teacher loses their Chromebook charger, either the individual teacher or their school site must purchase a new one as a replacement.

  • Chargers must be replaced with the exact brand charger that the Chromebook came with. No generic chargers.

Requesting Google Extensions or Google Workspace Settings
