If you are looking for a free afterschool sport activity, then Activities @ Gungahlin have you covered. Open to children from 5 years and over, the program aims to encourage kids to gain some skills, connect with the community and become more physically active through participating in sports or recreation activities.
The programs will be starting back Wednesday the 17th November @ Ngunnawal and Thursday the 18th November @ Moncrieff.

The Craft and Conversation group was created to support women in our community hoping to connect and practice their English. The group is facilitated by a number of community partners- namely NCS, and “Good Omen Goodeze” or GOGS.

Remembrance Day
Dear Learners and Families,
marks Remembrance Day, a very special day that commemorates the end of World War 1 and honours all those who have lost their lives or suffered in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.
On 11 November at 11.00am, our Margaret Hendry community will pause to remember the honour and courage of those who served, suffered, and sacrificed their lives in an effort to preserve the freedoms that we all enjoy.
Children will participate in learning experiences within their learning community to further their understanding of the importance of the day.
We recognise those within our school community that serve in the forces and the children of our defence families. We thank you for your service.
We will remember them. Lest we forget.

In appreciation of World Teacher’s Day on 29 October, the P&C committee have kindly put together this student tribute video and the below message.

Successful Lockdown Trivia Night held on Sunday 12 September!
Successful Lockdown Trivia Night held on Sunday 12 September!
From the comfort of our living rooms, the P&C brought the Margaret Hendry Community together by hosting the first virtual trivia fundraiser. Participants of all ages battled to win the closely contested competition, with some very creative team names amongst the crowd.
After several rounds of questions, the competition went into overdrive, with the Tunks Family taking home first place, the Riggs family striding in second, and the Lawson family closely following up with a well-earned third.
A special thank you goes out to everyone who participated and made the event such a tremendous success. Also, a big shout-out to the P&C Committee who worked incredibly hard to make the trivia night possible, including crafting a fantastic selection of family friendly questions. And to our virtual quizmaster, Emma who did an amazing job keeping everyone on track and in high spirits.
Thank you again to everyone who made our first online fundraiser such a success!
Watch this space as the P&C will soon be hosting a Musical Trivia to help us through the lockdown blues!

Happy Wear it Purple day everyone!
A celebration of diversity, Wear it Purple Day rolls around each year to raise awareness for LGBTIQ+ young people living in Australia, with supporters all across the country wearing purple clothing to show their support.
While we are not able to celebrate Wear It Purple Day together again this year, we have received some fabulous pictures from Margaret Hendry community.
Wear it Purple has a simple message: “You have the right to be proud of who you are.” Who you love and how you define yourself does not change that.
