In-class tasks will be given out on a regular basis. You need to complete all tasks given in class. If you are absent for a task you will be expected to catch up in your own time. All class tasks should include a clear title and an evaluation of practical/design work (minimum one paragraph for Tertiary students, 4-5 dot points for Accredited students).
The final outcomes of your class tasks will be marked based on the quality of the work along with how much consideration has been given to the principles of landscape design and how successful the task is in communicating the intended concept/s.
For written work, the quality of the writing and evidence of knowledge and understanding of the task will be assessed. The design and layout of the pages in your portfolio will also be considered.
This semester, I am including a number of extension tasks. These are not mandatory, but recommended for those who finish the other tasks early.
Collect samples of various landscape architecture-related items throughout the semester to include in your portfolio. Your samples should be things that really inspire you. This could be articles, images of interesting landscape design projects or concepts, relevant materials or technologies relating to landscape design. You should write notes about each item to explain why you have included it. This section will be marked on its completeness and thought given to the selection. My advice here is to explore broadly.
You may include other relevant design or drawing work that you have completed this semester.
