A fun and engaging class for students interested in photography and computer generated art. Projects include taking photos, photobook making and darkroom work along with a variety of other multimedia productions. Finished projects are often shown a school assemblies and entered in competitions.

Excursions and Competitions
Excursions and Competitions
The Year 8 Visual Art Class visits either the National Gallery of Australia or the National Portrait Gallery each smester.
Students are encouraged to enter competitions. Year 8 Art and Media Art classes usually enter the Art in Butt Out competition each year. This competition is sponsored by the ACT AMA and students are challenged to create an ad that promotes an anti-smoking message. Canberra High has won the competition on many occasions since 2013.
