We are so lucky in the ACT to have such a huge range of educational spaces and places at our fingertips. This is non exhaustive list of some of the places you can go to within the ACT and explore hands on learning. Many of these places will offer guided tours, exhibitions, online resources, and other education events designed for children - explore the websites and see what is on offer. Note that the opening hours of the following educational spaces and places may vary during ACT public holidays.

Guided tours available at multiple times daily. See the National Bonsai collection, Forest Sculpture Gallery, the POD Playground and regular events such as Kids Bonsai Workshops and Kite Fest. There are often low sensory options available for events hosted at the Arboretum.

Visit the National Dinosaur Museum in a self paced tour or on a guided one. Also see the website for weekly updates to Dino TV for young archaeologists. Email ahead if you require sensory adjustments around the animatronics.

Public tours are available at 10.45am daily and court sitting hours are open between 10am - 12.45pm and 2.15pm - 4.15pm daily. There are a number of educational tours offered that align with the Australian Curriculum, just make sure to email ahead to register interest.

30 minutes tours available daily, quiet mornings occur on the first Saturday of every month, and the Little Visitors Vault hosts free storytelling and craft most days. See the website for a huge range of virtual financial literacy programs as well as their holiday programs for all ages.

Offers a range of immersive geoscientific programs designed for students. Reservations must be made to ensure that school groups have not booked the space. Access the Timewallk and National Mineral and Fossil Collection during weekdays.

Located at St Johns Anglican Church, the Schoolhouse Museum, which is in the same condition as when it was used in 1840, is open for public exploration.

Visit The Sanctuary and a number of other walking trails at your own pace or tag along with ranger guided activities at 10.30am, 11.30am, and 1pm every Wednesday. Make sure to visit the Nature Discovering Playground and give the orienteering course a go or plan a visit around the events they host.

Access a selection of ranger guided and self guided tours, walks, and trails including the Flora Explorer bus tours. Join storytime on the first Friday of every month and check the site for updates on regular events and exhibitions - especially during school holiday times!

A program for children aged 6-18 who have experienced significant life changes. 6 months must have passed since the event/loss occurred.

Neist program is a learning program to support children with neurodevelopmental conditions and learning delays. They also host a playgroup for 5s and unders and training.

A youth resilience program for children aged 5-18 that promotes social and emotional wellbeing through the arts.
Cool Kids Anxiety Program
10 Week program for parents of children aged 7-12 to help better manage anxiety.
ACT Libraries have a wealth of online resources and physical resources which you can use as part of your Home Education learning. ACT Library branches can be found in Belconnen, Civic, Dickson, Erindale, Gungahlin, Kingston, Kippax, Tuggeranong, Woden, and the ACT Heritage Library (which is located in Fyshwick but is currently undergoing renovations).
