Students in grades K-5 will have the option to attend school in-person or choose from virtual options. Class sizes will be adjusted to allow for appropriate physical/social distancing. Instruction regarding hygiene and physical/social distancing will continue throughout the year.
While practicing frequent sanitization habits, implementing physical/social distancing practices and scheduling staggered traffic flow through the building each day, cohorts of students will be assigned to the classroom setting.
Organized recesses and specials opportunities will be in place.
Students will be assigned to a virtual cohort through Google Classroom. Teachers will maintain the pacing and fidelity of the curriculum offered through the in-person classroom setting. Students will be assigned Chromebooks to access online lessons, upload completed work and confer/communicate with a teacher.
This option provides families the opportunity to return to the in-person classroom setting throughout the school year.
Students will experience all learning remotely and are not expected to attend in person. The curriculum and instruction is fully implemented by the JEDI consortium and not taught by ECSD.
Click HERE for more information on JEDI.
Face coverings will be worn by staff and students.
Display age appropriate health signage at each school to reinforce teaching & practicing with hand hygiene, physical/social distancing, COVID-19 symptoms, separation in high traffic areas, and face coverings
There will be changes to the lunch room (distanced seating, hand washing/sanitizing before and after eating, distanced lines, face coverings required when not eating, etc). Physical/social distancing will be provided through scheduling and adjustments to the layout of the cafeteria. These adjustments will be in place for both breakfast and lunch periods.
Students will enter/exit the building using a variety of entrances based upon their classroom assignment. This will be communicated as families learn about classroom placement after registration.
Lockers will be used by classroom cohorts of students. Teachers will stagger the use of lockers to account for physical/social distancing.
Established one-way traffic patterns in hallways will limit student exposure as they move about the building.
Custodial staff will clean and sanitize the building, with a continuous focus on high use areas. Staff will disinfect between classes and students will use hand sanitizer prior to exiting a classroom.
After each school day, the entire building will be sanitized with an Electrostatic Sprayer.
