Instrument Selection Process

Unfortunately, because of Covid-19 precautions, your child did not have the opportunity to participate in a demonstration at school of all of the instruments offered in Beginning Band, which are Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone Horn, and Percussion. Flute, Clarinet, and trumpet typically carry melodies, while alto sax offers support to those melodies, and trombone and baritone provide the foundation for all of the band sound. Percussion consists of both drums and keyboard-style instruments to help keep the tempo of the group.

In order to allow you a head-start on selecting and reserving an instrument, Schmidt’s Music is offering a person, CDC-compliant selection process (one student and parent per room, sanitizer, masks, etc.) for your child in their store.
