The I Poem

In an attempt to have students experiment with poem writing, an activity called " The I Poem" was done in class. The activity consisted of each student writing his own poem, however, following a certain pattern and fixed instructions for each of the poems lines.

Although all poems followed the same guidelines, they each turned out very unique and interesting. Some of the poems could really describe the personality and views of the authors.

Below you will find a collection of "I poems", each of them presented in a particular way.

I am

Physics, Space and Knowledge.

I like equations and technology.

Numbers, Stars and Questions are important to me.

I find satisfaction in solving problems.

I despair when faced with failure.

But I shall always turn such despair into achievement.

I love the quiet.

I love the loud.

I have strong feelings when it comes to sounds.

This is me. I am!

I am

Happiness, Sadness, Love.

I like being alone, but I feel lonely when I do it.

Empathy, Humour and Communication are important to me.

I am happy, and that makes me happier.

I can be really picky with other people´s opinions.

But I am a good listener when you need me.

I love animals.

I cry a lot, sometimes not knowing why.

I have the greatest mom in the world.

Laziness, Energy and Contradiction.

I like sleeping and staying active.

Peace, Chaos and Conviction are important to me.

Watching people being active makes me happy.

I can be really lazy.

But procrastinating one day gives me energy to do stuff.

Sleeping can be great.

But it can also be tiring.

Contradiction keeps on coming.

Passion, Consistency and Loyalty are important to me.

I find beauty in questions and answers.

It can make me frustrated quite often

But finishing what I've started always feels great.

I love rainy and sunny days.

For me they are equally beautiful
