Holy wow, today I wrapped up my last shift on the 00:00-12:00 crew. I’m definitely gonna miss the sunrises and multicores. I am slightly excited to get back to waking up after midnight though. The first multi core we did was one the shift before us sent down. Then we had an 8hour transit in between which most of us slept. I ended up staying awake till 5 to help with a water transect that we have been doing in between certain sites. During those three hours I lost every game of solitaire I played until I realized the deck didn’t have a seven or five of hearts. When we got to our second site we multicored. The cores that came up had the clearest coldest water I had seen the hole trip. The top layer of the cores also had so many forams. After the multicore we CDT casted while setting up the gravity core. We didn’t get to finish the gravity core since our shift ended but I stayed up to watch it be pulled out. Today we also saw so many dolphins playing in the boats wake, and it was awesome to watch them from the bow. We also played a lot of cards which got pretty heated. We also decorated styrofoam heads and then sent them down to get compressed at 3,000m.
Dolphins off the bow
Delirium in the wee hours.
