Accessibility Hyperdoc
Module 5
Module 5
Artifact Introduction:
This module contains my Accessibility Hyperdoc entitled Birds' Beaks and Their Functions. It is an all-inclusive lesson plan that incorporates links to resources and assistive technologies designed to follow the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, allowing access to learning for all students.
Module 5 Objectives/Goals:
Explore the issue of accessibility and how the use of technology can level the playing field for students with disabilities.
Create a Hyperdoc to showcase tech tools available to students with disabilities and how they can be used to improve their accessibility to information presented in the classroom.
Reflection:
I enjoyed creating my accessibility hyperdoc because it allowed me to take an actual lesson from my ELA curriculum and show how I would incorporate assistive technologies to help make the presented information more accessible for my students with disabilities. I chose to address multiple students with a variety of disabilities because it is an authentic representation of the demographics of my regular education classroom. Creating this hyperdoc also made me more aware of the volume of assistive technologies available to help with accessibility and creative ways to utilize those technologies to make content more accessible for all of my students. In the future, I want to attend professional development opportunities focused on assistive technologies and ways I can better support my students' individual needs.
