How can I Monitor my child's Progress?

Access Renaissance Home Connect to view your child's STAR Reading scores and quiz progress.

Log in to Home Connect by clicking below. The username and password are your child's Google login without @ebrschools.org (ex: username: ab123456  password: Hyujka06).

STAR Reading scaled scores will be displayed at bottom of home page. For more information on these scores (i.e. your child's grade equivalent reading score, percentile ranking, etc.), contact Mrs. Lee at lroberie@ebrschools.org or your child's ELA teacher.

In order to take an AR Reading Practice Quiz, students must read an entire book and ask their ELA teacher to quiz during class time. You can monitor your child's independent reading by viewing quizzes under "My Completed Work" tab. "My Progress" tab will show their progress towards their points goal. Remember all students will receive a 50 point classwork assignment in their English class for meeting their AR points goal and quiz accuracy goal.

What books can my child read?

What books can your child read? A book from the MMAM library or EBR public library, an ebook through MackinVia (see the slideshow) or EBRPL's Overdrive, a book from a classroom library, or even a book that you own. Students must read a book in order to take an AR quiz. Watching a Netflix show based on the book, reading a portion of the book, or reading online summaries of the book do not count as having read the book.

Does your child need Help Finding a Good Book?

Is your child struggling to find a book that he/she enjoys reading? Try EBRPL's Novelist database. You will enter an EBR Public Library card number in the Patron ID box to access the site. Then you can look up a book that your child has read in the past and enjoyed and find similar books. Select to search by title, type in book title, and then view "Readalikes" on right hand side.
