Below you will find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions in regards to GOMHS Library. If you have any other questions or concerns in regards to the library program, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Anding at emurray@ebrschools.org and/or by calling the school at 225-356-4306 and asking to speak to the library.
Answer: The library is circulating books this year. Please return them to the circulation desk when you are finished with them. Panthers who do not feel comfortable checking out books should consider using our digital resources, such as MackinVIA and the Gale databases. These resources are available 24/7.
Answer: Mrs. Anding is available to assist with Chromebooks during the following times:
Advisory Period (1st): This time period is Mrs. Anding's "Tech Time." Assisting with Chromebooks and other technology issues is her duty post. Mrs. Anding does not require hall passes during this time.
After the first 20 minutes in each class period (except 3rd period): The library follows the school's 20/10/20 Rule. No students should come to the library during the first 20 minutes. These time periods are for Mrs. Anding's lunch break, working in the back office, and/or assisting across campus. Mrs. Anding is unavailable during the entire 3rd period, as she teaches a class in the L Building at that time period. Students must have a hall pass or a Hero pass to come at these times.
Lunch: Mrs. Anding's duty post during the lunch periods is the library. She is does not require a hall pass at these times for the grades that are at lunch during that time.
Answer: Mrs. Anding only creates replacement student IDs during the lunch period. The replacement cost includes the lanyard and is $5.00. Please have your cash ready for Mrs. Anding to write you a receipt.
Answer: Students are not allowed in the E Building prior to 7:05 a.m. This includes the library. Mrs. Anding's "Tech Time" does not start until 7:05 a.m.
Answer: Students are expected to clear their catalog accounts, which include library books, textbooks, and Chromebooks, prior to LEAVING the district. This will either occur prior to graduation or when they drop from the district. Mrs. Anding's signature is required for students who are dropping the school and at that time she will clear the account. She signs on the graduation form during senior checkout after she has formally received instructions to do so by administration. Clearing an account might include paying for charges and fines, volunteer work, filling out hardship waivers, etc. Students who expect to have issues with clearing their debt should speak privately with Mrs. Anding prior to senior checkout day.
