STAYNOR HALL ACADEMY NEWSLETTER
Friday 19th June 2026
Dear Families
We hope the children have enjoyed their extra day off this week, they have certainly had lovely weather for it! As we see the temperatures rising please can I ask that all children are wearing suncream and have a hat to wear to protect their heads and skin at playtime and during PE, thank you for your support with this.
I would like to thank everyone who has contributed in some way to the success of our Summer School Fair. FOSHA have worked incredibly hard to ensure the event was well organised and successful for all of our children and families. I am delighted to share that over £1,300 was raised, money which will go directly back to support our children and providing them to have greater opportunities to access enrichment activities.
Next week we will be sharing the class structure for the academic year 2026/27, within this letter we will share the class that your child will be allocated to in preparation for our transition days on the 29th and 30th June.
I wish you a lovely weekend, with very warm wishes,
Mrs Winter

Apple AirTag and tracking children on school trips
It has been brought to our attention both locally and nationally that parents/carers are using devices such as the Apple AirTag to track children on school residentials/trips/visits/outings. Other devices can also include electronic watches that are essentially tracking devices with the capability of sending video footage from the device back to the person tracking i.e. parent. Such devices have the potential to post locations of children’s whereabouts on social media. We are therefore advising schools to include this in the consent slip which parents sign prior to taking part in a trip that such devices will not be allowed under any circumstances and must not be hidden in pockets/bags etc. If any tracking devices are found on pupils they will not be allowed on the trip and will be returned to school.
Apple have released the statement below which can be found on their website:
“AirTag was designed to help people locate their personal belongings, not to track people or another person’s property, and we condemn in the strongest possible terms any malicious use of our products”
We are an allergy aware school.
Nuts are prohibited on school site, and should not be put in children's packed lunches or brought in as a playtime snack.
Including school trips and events.
Thank you
Something very exciting is coming to Staynor Hall this half term – the very first Staynor Stars talent competition!
A few weeks ago, Miss Smith introduced the event during assembly, and you may already have spotted the posters displayed around school.
We would love to see our children showcasing their talents! Whether performing solo or as part of a group of up to five children, all acts are welcome. Singing, dancing, gymnastics, magic, comedy, playing a musical instrument, or any other special talent – if your child would like to take part, please encourage them to practise at home and take part in their class audition.
Each class will vote for a winning act, which will become their class representative. These finalists will then perform in a special parent showcase on Wednesday 1st July at 5:30pm.
The excitement will continue with the Grand Final on the afternoon of Thursday 2nd July, where the finalists will perform in front of the whole school and a panel of very special judges!
If you have any questions, please contact the Music Team via email.
We can't wait to discover the amazing talents of our Staynor Hall stars!
Thank you,
Miss Fawcett, Miss Smith, Miss Schofield and Mrs Lazenby

New Clothes Recycling Bin – Support Our School!
We’re excited to share that a new clothes recycling bin has been installed on the school grounds! This is a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, reduce waste, and support the school at the same time.
We encourage families to donate any unwanted clothing and shoes. Every item collected helps to raise valuable funds that go directly back into supporting school activities, resources, and opportunities for our children.
By using the recycling bin, you’re not only helping the environment by giving items a second life, but also contributing to the continued growth and success of our school.
Thank you for your ongoing support — every bag makes a difference!
What's Cooking?
As mentioned last week, this week I have been working with Team Humber and WOW, how amazing they have been! They have all worked so hard making cupcakes for the Summer Fayre. It was so enjoyable having them in Cook School, not only making the cupcakes but decorating them too. We really do have some amazing artists!
I would like to this opportunity in sharing with you all what a brilliant success their cakes were. The cake stall made £110 which is an amazing amount of money. Thank you so much to Team Humber for all their hard work, I am so proud of each and every one of you. Also, a big thank you to all the parents/carers who came and supported the stall by purchasing cupcakes - I do hope you enjoyed them!
Next week, I will be working with Team Loxley and they will be making a delicious Greek Salad.
