Good afternoon,
The children are really enjoying our writing on children working in a Victorian mill. They have done a fantastic job at building atmosphere to show what this might have been like.
Next week:
Friday is Sports Day. Year 6 will be outside all day - they help run the KS1 event as well. Please ensure they are dressed appropriately for the weather.
PSHE: we will be learning about how people may try to gain power, focusing on grooming both online and in the real world - this is the correct session. We have spent longer than expected talking about drugs education.
English: we will be starting our independent narrative based on a child working in a Victorian mill
Maths: we will be exploring coordinates
Curriculum: we will be looking at how the industrial revolution advanced technology.
Science: the children will be learning about how diet, exercise and lifestyle impact on our bodies
P.E is on Tuesday and Thursday. Children need to come dressed in PE kit for the whole day. Children need to wear a pair of plain black or navy blue jogging bottoms or shorts, a plain white t-shirt and a plain black or navy blue hoodie. Children need to wear suitable shoes for PE (trainers or plimsolls).
Homework will be set this week.
Reading: The children will be expected to read a minimum of 3 times a week, ideally to a grown-up. This needs to be recorded in their reading records.
Spelling: The children will be expected to play a minimum of 5 games of the set spelling rule on EdShed.
Maths: The children will have a task set on My Maths.
Children are expected to access TTRockstars a minimum of 3 times a week.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs Danbury
